The USS / CGV Tanmesad made the fourth (Delta) Star Fleet Attempt to use the Thosian Sphere weapon first observed by the USS Roddenberry and USS Voyager. The weapon of immense capabilities would prove very valuable to Star Fleet if the Federation could harness its power.

The weapon has been tested by the Sigma Division using the Research and Development Vessel, the USS Nova Horizon with 3 failures and has been tested at the Cardassian Research Platform, Platform 1968, also a failure.

The Temporal Containment required to keep the spheres intact keeps failing and resulting in a paradox explosion or worse two separate temporal incidents including one involving the USS / CGV Tanmesad.

The project is listed as abandoned by the Cardassians and by the Sigma Division, however the Tanmesad will continue to work on the valuable addition to the Fleet.
